Key Features & Benefits – Aluminized insulated wire/hose heat shield sleeve with hook & loop closure
The aluminized insulated wire/hose heat shield sleeve with hook & loop closure is a wrap-around sleeve designed to help shield wires, cables, and hoses from radiant heat.
The lengthwise opening with hook & loop edges lets you install it without removing one end of the connected bundle. With a 0.75" (19.05 mm) inner diameter, it is functionally suited to bundles whose outside diameter fits within that ID.
When is this useful?
It fits engine-bay routing where you want to reduce heat exposure on a specific section and keep servicing simple thanks to the hook & loop design.
Technical specs
- Design: Lengthwise split sleeve with hook & loop closure
- Inner diameter: 0.75" (19.05 mm)
- Length: 3 ft (91 cm)
- Material: Glass fiber fabric base with an aluminized outer facing
Selection & installation tips
- Diameter check: Measure the bundle’s outside diameter and allow a little clearance for movement and vibration.
- Length planning: Measure the section you want to protect and position the sleeve to fully cover the hottest zone.
- Surface orientation: Keep the aluminized side facing outward toward the heat source for reflective shielding.
- End retention: Secure the ends so the sleeve cannot creep, open, or rotate under vibration.
- Routing & clearance: Check for steering, engine movement, and thermal expansion, and keep distance from sharp edges and very hot spots.
Before installation, verify bundle diameter, required coverage length, and clearances, then match them to the dimensions above and your actual routing.
