Key Features & Benefits – Aluminized insulated wire/hose heat shield sleeve with hook & loop closure 1"
The aluminized insulated wire/hose heat shield sleeve with hook & loop closure 1" (heat shield sleeve) is designed to reduce radiant heat exposure and protect the outer surface of your wiring or hose runs.
It is functionally suitable for wiring, fuel and brake lines, intake tubes, pipes, spark plug wires, battery cables, and A/C hoses where the bundle OD fits within the 1" (25.4 mm) inner diameter. The wrap-around split and hook & loop edges let you install it without disconnecting the line or harness.
When is this useful?
It works well on longer sections near heat sources when you want quick servicing and a sleeve that can be opened and re-closed during maintenance.
Technical specs
- Design: Lengthwise split sleeve with hook & loop closure
- Inner diameter: 1" (25.4 mm)
- Length: 6 ft (182 cm)
- Material: High-temperature glass fiber fabric with an aluminized outer facing
- Heat resistance (direct): 500°F continuous (260 ℃)
- Heat resistance (radiant): 2000°F (1090 ℃)
- Electrical property: Sleeve is conductive
Selection & installation tips
- Size & clearance: Measure the bundle OD and account for bends, leaving extra room on tight radii so the sleeve does not bind.
- Orientation: Keep the aluminized side facing outward toward the heat source for reflective shielding.
- End retention: Secure and close the ends so the sleeve cannot creep, open, or rotate under vibration.
- Electrical insulation: Since the sleeve is conductive, ensure terminals and connectors are insulated and cannot touch the sleeve.
- Heat zone choice: Keep clearance from extremely hot surfaces and route it where the hook & loop closure is not exposed to extreme heat load.
Before installation, verify bundle OD, bends, and clearances, then match them to the 1" ID and the 6 ft length listed above.
