Boxer Platforms, Drift Tuning

SUBARU – D2 Racing Drift Coilover Kits suit the lightweight BRZ ZN6/ZN8 and WRX/STI platforms. The 36-step damping window isolates initiation/mid/exit behaviour; independent height preserves spring travel at low stance. Pillowball mounts sharpen on-centre feel.

Technical

Drift coilovers use threaded bodies, linear springs and adjustable lower mounts so preload stays constant as you set ride height. Materials: SAE9254 springs, 6061 aluminium brackets. BRZ arch clearance needs checking with wide wheels; WRX heat/brake loads often favour firmer initial compression.

Selection

For mixed use: firmer front, slightly softer rear; drop 40–60 mm maximum to protect geometry/travel. Add front camber and caster; on RWD conversions, coordinate rear grip and roll-centre.

Install & Care

Clean, apply copper grease, set via the lower mount, torque to OE, align fully. After events, re-torque and inspect dust boots. Winter: rinse and protect threads.
